Not impressed. Waitress seemed grouchy. Ordered around 11:05 am. Didn't get food until 11:45. Watched other people come and get food before us, pay and leave all before we got our order. Also watched people be denied seating because there wasn't enough room in the restaurant, so I was feeling rushed to get out to let them sit. When we did finally ask the waitress if our food was coming soon, we were given no reassurance except a simple "yes". Ready to leave, our food was finally delivered. Surprisingly it was hot. But as we started eating I noticed a regular fry in my plate of homemade fries. My partner's burger bun was extremely soggy. And my tourist grandmother found ham product in her egg when she ordered sausage and by the looks of how the egg was made, she figures the grill wasn't properly cleaned before making her food. Although the atmosphere was nice, the food was not and the service was not.Edit; I did forget to mention that the waitress sincerely apologized for that and accepted the request that we didn't want to pay full price. So she discounted the two meals and coffee, therefore only paying for one full meal. That's how she made it up to us We were grateful for that. I would give MJ's another go for breakfast menu sometime soon. Lots of great family memories at that place.
Excellent place. The plate hits the table and Im suddenly 8 years old at the table in my Oma and Opas kitchen. Definitely a gem.
The atmosphere isn't my idea of cozy, but the delicious comfort food definitely makes up for any possible lacks in the restaurant itself.
Hard to find a better diner anywhere. They do excellent classic diner food (bacon n' eggs, burgers, etc.), as well as good home made style Mennonite food and desserts. I definitely recommend eating here
