We visited Diner on 52 recently for a mid afternoon quick lunch. We ordered a poutine...and it was absolutely delicious!The atmosphere is cute and quaint, and the staff is super friendly and welcoming. Would definitely recommend it as a place to try Went again on Mothers Day and it was a totally different story. Seriously under staffed, waited almost 2 hours for our order, waitress was the opposite of friendly, unacceptable.They need to invest in more wait staff so the customers don't pay the ultimate price...time wasted.
Wonderful atmosphere! Love the diner feel! Board/card games available. Food was tasty! We'll definitely be back.
After driving by here numerous times, my friend and me decided to stop in for dinner but unfortunately we were rather disappointed. I had the Clubhouse with fries and my friend had the B52 with fries as well. Our server was very friendly, but we were not impressed with the food. Both orders of fries were soggy, greasy and cold. My clubhouse was described on the menu as being "piled high", but had 1 slice of deli ham, one slice of deli turkey, and 2 slices of bacon. Not exactly "piled high" but I guess the Texas toast made it look bigger I guess... My friends burger looked amazing, but upon tasting it, it was bland, and the burger pattys were hard as hockey pucks. Would have given my feedback to our server but after handing us our food they were no where to be seen until out meals were finished. Really disappointed.
Waited almost half an hour after being seated for a server and almost an hour more after our order was taken. When I politely asked the waitress how much longer it would take they said 15 minutes. Half an hour later I asked what's the hold up and they sarcastically replied "we're not McDonald's". No you're not but no respectable establishment makes a customer wait nearly 2 hours without even looking their way. I left before we ever got served and the waitress snapped at us on the way out for daring to question the wait time. Easily the worst experience of my life. Simply unacceptable.
The service is great! I usually just order ice cream at the counter (soft ice cream is only a dollar!) and they bring it to your table.
